Guaranteed To Locate Your Pipeline Leak or You Don't Pay

MediVac Technologies has been successful in locating leaks in buried pipelines even when covered with up to 25 feet of dirt and  paving materials. Our highly accurate method of helium leak testing allows us to determine a leakage point to within a few feet keeping excavation to a minimum. This method is useful for any size or type of underground pipe and does not leave any residue or require complete removal of product prior to testing.

Helium Leak Test At Tank Farm

Pipeline leak testing with helium is often the fastest and most economical way to locate leaks on buried pipelines. Even very large leaks or breaks in pipes will not always allow water to come to the surface. This water can be channeled long distances along the pipe and drain underground. Helium always comes to the surface where it is easily detected. Helium is also an FDA approved food additive and is safe for use in potable water systems.

MediVac also utilizes the helium leak detection method to test petroleum tank bottoms. Whether trying to pinpoint a leak for repair or for certification of a new or retrofitted tank bottom our services will save you time and money.

The techniques used to leak test both underground pipelines and tank floor bottoms are very similar. Helium is injected either under the tank floor or into the pipeline and a small pressure differential is achieved. Our technician then scans the tank floor or the ground above the pipeline looking for helium escaping from leaks. We use only state-of-the-art portable mass spectrometer helium leak detectors and are able to scan any length of pipe or size of tank floor. All leak testing is performed in accordance with the ASME's Boiler Code section five, article ten "Leak Testing" by experienced technicians.

If you have tried ultrasonic or other less sensitive leak detection methods in the past you will be pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of helium leak testing. Our technicians are experts at leak testing tank bottoms and underground pipelines and are certified to SNT-TC-1A from ASNT.

Please call or email and we will have a quote to you within minutes. We can usually be on-site within 24 hours and our rates are low enough to compete with companies that may be closer to you.
